Meet the Directors
TERESA ELLIOTT, DIRECTOR OF BANDS
Ms. Elliott joined Dunbar Bands in June of 2015. Ms. Elliott is a native of Winchester, Kentucky, a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, and began her instrumental training under Mr. Chuck Campbell. She earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Morehead State University. She holds Masters Degrees in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from the University of Kentucky.
Ms. Elliott has enjoyed a distinguished teaching career instructing instrumental music at all levels, elementary through university, in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Ensembles under her direction have achieved consistent state, national, and even international recognition in both marching and concert venues.
Ms. Elliott has received numerous honors and accolades throughout her career, but finds the day-to-day teaching of music to young people the most exciting, motivating and passionate privilege in the world. She is humbled and honored to be part of the Dunbar family.
BRIAN MORGAN, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Mr. Morgan has been with the PLD band since the school opened in 1990, first as a percussion instructor and later as Assistant Band Director and Jazz Band Director. Mr. Morgan earned his BA in Music Education from Eastern Kentucky University. He later earned his Masters in Music Composition from Eastern Kentucky University.
Mr. Morgan's passion for percussion can be felt in the heartbeat of the PLD band. Mr. Morgan has also written several award winning shows for bands across Kentucky including Beechwood's Class A Bands of America Grand National Championship in 2006.
BRIAN ROBINSON, COLOR GUARD DIRECTOR
PLD welcomed Brian and his staff during the 2009 season, bringing excitement and experience to the program. Brian is a Dunbar Band alumnus, who played Baritone in the 2003 State Champion Band (the first one in Class AAAA) and was also a member of the 2004 Winter Guard Tri-State Championship.
After graduating from PLD, Brian marched with the Madison Scouts (Madison, WI), Santa Clara Vanguard (Santa Clara, CA), Cadets (Bergen County, NJ), where he had a lead role in the mad hatter, and the Cavaliers (Rosemont, IL), who won high guard at DCI that year. He also marched 4 years at the Pride of Cincinnati, winning 2 golds and 2 silvers.
