       We need your help! The Band's many fundraising efforts by our students and parent volunteers help keep the cost of student participation in the PLD Marching Band affordable for many families in our district. In fact, the band fees for the PLD Marching Band are among the lowest in Fayette County. Our directors constantly strive to balance the need to keep our band fees reasonable, with maintaining a level of excellence necessary to compete at the highest levels. Our students work very hard and deserve to be rewarded with fun, challenging, and memorable experiences in music and performing arts that last a lifetime.

       The learning experience students gain from participating in this championship program include goal oriented teamwork, a strong work ethic, time management, respect, perseverance, persistence, responsibility, and trust. These are life skills the students of the PLD Marching Band learn from this program and use for the rest of their lives. It is our belief, that all students can benefit from participating in this outstanding program and that no student should be excluded because of their family's financial station in life.

       Many former band student say Marching Band changed their lives. Most graduating seniors express a desire to remain involved, in some small way, with the PLD Band program that they poured their heart and soul into while they were students. Making a tax deductiblle contribution is one way of doing just that. You don't have to be on the practice field helping the freshmen read drill charts, or stitching a tear in a color guard flag, or helping move pit in order to be involved. You can be just as involved when you select an amount below that best fits your budget, and then click the donate button. No contribution, no matter how small, will ever go unappreciated.

       Even with the best fundraising efforts and the tightest control on our budget costs continue to rise - even in these tough economic times. As one Band parent put it recently, "Unexpected expenses seem to find us rather easily, but unexpected income never does". That's where you come in. Making a donation to the PLD Marching Band is one way to turn that around. Your donation can be that "unexpected income" that find us, and helps promote this band program so that we truly can "take it to the next level".

       We welcome and greatly appreciate any and all donations, from individuals or businesses, made in support of the PLD Marching Band. The Paul Laurence Dunbar Band Parents Association is a tax-exempt, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization as defined by the IRS. Please be assured that 100% of your donation goes directly to support the activities and expenses of the PLD Marching Band. We have 0% administrative costs as all administrative duties are performed by parent volunteers. All band expenditures are monitored and approved by the Band Parent Board of Directors who are elected each year by the full BPA membership.
