PLD BAND FUNDRAISING The quality band program that we have come to expect from Dunbar is expensive. The Band receives very minimal financial support from the Fayette County Board of Education. Fundraising efforts by the Band Parents Association (BPA) and the members of the band provide the necessary funds to support the Band’s activities. The entire band program at PLD benefits from these funds, which are used to pay for such things as sheet music, instruments and instrument repair, other equipment, uniforms, instruction, and other administrative support. In addition, the funds raised by the PLD Band Parents Association pays for all transportation to assessments and contests and off-campus performances, food, lodging at contests, entry fees, and award patches. SEASONAL FUNDRAISERS All fundraising activities are for the ENTIRE BAND, we all benefit from the funds raised, we get our music, instrument repairs, buses, uniforms, and so much more from these funds. All we ask is that everyone do their best and participate to help support the band.

Plant sale in April We had great success with this last year and are hoping it will ‘grow’ even larger this year. The plants come from Country Place Nursery in Springfield, KY and they are beautiful.
Mattress Sale This is great fundraiser held at the high school. We offer delivery and the kids are great sales mascots!
Vendor Fair Local businesses, craftspeople, and coaches set-up tables and booths to peddle their wares. This is a great opportunity to involve the entire community and support the band.
YEAR-ROUND FUNDRAISERS The band holds year round fundraising events that also earn money. Planned events for the upcoming year include:
Jackpot Bingo This is one of our biggest fundraisers that runs every Thursday, all year long. Parents help sell bingo sheets, computers, organize pull-tabs, and even call the numbers. Students walk the floor selling pull-tabs and promoting our wonderful organization. All band students are expected to work 10 evenings of BINGO and their parents are asked to work 4. With 52 weeks of BINGO, that should be easy for all of us to do.
Keeneland During live racing events at Keeneland, the PLD Band has the opportunity to work concessions on the main level and fill in serving positions on the clubhouse levels. It is a great fundraising opportunity for our organization. Click here to sign up.
Kroger Plus Shopper's Card PLD Band receives money when you use your Kroger Plus card IF you have registered it with our account. Go to krogercommunityrewards.com and create your online account, add your plus card number and enter our organization (10087). Then we will earn money every time you shop!
SCRIP SCRIP fundraising is a program where gift cards can be bought through the band. These are great for gifts, but the real profit for the band comes when families buy and use the cards for everyday expenses like groceries, gas, clothing, eating out, etc. Orders for physical cards are placed monthly. Place your order online and have your payment in the red box. Cards are delivered 3-4 days after the order comes in; they come to the coordinator and will be delivered to you. Ecards and cards downloaded to your mobile phone are now available as well. Use Enrollment Code F29C55193735L. For more information or to get started, click here.
